This is the refurbished book that the prints will go in.
I didn’t include the back because it looks the same as the front, minus the goat cut-out.
Most of these are probably repeats since you’ve seen the in-progress of them, but these are my final 8 monoprints and the 2 lithographs I’ve chosen for my final in my printmaking class.
I figured I would share them all in one post since they are kind of meant to have a loose narrative for the viewer to interpret for themselves.
Don’t want to work on schoolwork or any other drawings that need to be done so clearly the solution is to draw Adam and Vritra.
On the one hand, I’ve come to really enjoy working with brush and ink and am really excited to see how my final project for graphic illustration will turn out.
On the other hand, I’ve got a shit load of scanning and assembling to do because all the panels for a 4 page comic are scattered on like two dozen pieces of paper and counting. While I am taking care to name the files descriptively and keep them all in a single folder when I’m not scanning them, I can totally forsee myself screaming and curling up into a foetal position to sob when I get around to assembling it all.
Some monotypes and the three layers of duralar for my color lithography project. I added a goat in the attempt to have an excuse to use the lithograph prints in the final portfolio I have to turn in under the pretense they fit the same theme. (The goat in the color litho will relate to the monotypes and the emphasis on Mel and Ridwan’s sashes/scarves will relate to Adam’s in the lithos. ITS CRUNCH TIME I GOTTA CUT CORNERS WHERE I CAN, OKAY?)
I don’t know why but it’s a miracle if I can ever get the ghost prints to stay put and not give me crazy bad alignment issues and end up with that double image bullhonkery. There will be a version of the first print with more colors/layers. I did the same thing with the image of Ridwan and Mel bleeding the goat where I made two versions of the yellow/sienna before I continued on with the red/blue of the image. When all the monotypes are done I’m going to go back with ink and add some lineart and hatching like what is done on the lithography so they go together better.
But I got an A on my first set of lithos (that I posted about here) so that’s awesome!
Monotypes and their ghost prints.
For my class we picked a print to base our work off of, and mine had a lot of goats in it, so that’s kind of what my project has turned into. A series of monotypes about goats. I am really running out of ways to make monotypes with goats and still keep myself from being bored with them and saying FUCK THIS PROJECT.
So the obvious solution is to start slipping ocs in there to keep my motivation up, right?
Right.

Also I have no idea what the fuck I am going to do with 7 of these prints so if anyone is interested in purchasing one for like $15-20 drop me an ask or something! (or if you’ve got prints of your own I would totally go for a ~*print exchange*~)
Here are some things I doodles while I played in a MaOCT game while trying to think of some powers for this character that I will eventually use in another MaOCT campaign. You can see my effort just drop with each progressive drawing.
His name is Leander and he is a time-displaced child from Hellenistic Greece and he is basically just an expy of character from an original story me and Kari have because I’m unoriginal. (And also hate not knowing how a character would act before I actually RP them in tabletop games and hate having to get a feel for them in the first few sessions so I always just port characters over so I have a general feel for how they act beforehand.)
I haven’t decided what I want his weird powers to be yet. I know I want them based on Greek mythology or heroes. He grew up near Delphi so I could go with some sort of oracle/soothsaying sort of powers, or since Delphi is associated with Apollo he could have powers based on him? Or the last idea I had was that he had only had one really strong and noticeable power based on Zeus/lightning, but it came at a high risk of hurting himself and/or triggering his epilepsy.
The Apollo-based powers are my least favorite at the moment because I’ve already got a red-head character I associate with arrows and I can’t think of what else really.

I am fairly sure I fucked up either the exposure or applying the gum arabic I WILL TEST MORE TOMORROW maybe?

“No. Not really. I mostly remember that she had a sleeve tat. I remember that really vividly. I know it was black ink but sometimes I swear I remember it was red.”
“Mm. Mom never had a lot of photos of her turn out. She always seemed to be turning her head or moving the moment the picture was taken.”
“That’s… That kinda weird.”
“Well, you’re not the stunning example of normalcy yourself.”
“That hurts me deep, Sylvia. But point taken.”
Am I experimenting with the lasso tool and gradients or am I just too lazy to color???
The world will never know.
“So tell me, Little Green Man, how is it that this invisible woman who lives in your arms causes you harm?”
“That is a question is very simple. My Lady reaches up over our shoulders and wraps her blessed graceful fingers about my neck and applies pressure until we cannot breathe.”
“Fascinating.”
They have no reason to ever meet, considering they not from the same story or universe, but I bet Vritra and Samir would really hit it off well.
Best not to mention that everybody in said dream happened to be buck ass naked to the guidance counselor. That might just cause unnecessary investigations and you sure don’t have the time for that, Tony.
Besides, dreams can be weird like that.
A two-page comic for my Graphic Illustration class. Requirements were that it was open media, two pages, and tell a complete narrative with the theme of “decay”. Which… I really stretched it to it’s limits in order to draw my characters, but the professor seemed cool with it when I ran the script by him.
It’s actually meant to be read across the two pages as a spread, so I probably should have merged them together, but it’s 5 in the morning and I need a small nap before I go to school.
Maybe tumblr will be cool and let you flip between the pages on the dashboard or something?? I don’t know how this website works, don’t ask me.
funfact1: I almost drew Adam with the wrong dagger. He doesn’t get Lilith until much later, after the events in this comic.

We have to make a two-page comic with the theme of ‘decay.’ So rather than zombies or dead things I decided to talk about a character of mine that goes crazy. I don’t know how well it fits the theme exactly but when I ran the story past my professor he seemed cool with it… sooo… yeah.
This is the first time I’ve attempted a comic with this much text/narrative so I’m really nervous and I really hope it doesn’t come across as too lame or obtuse or vague.
feel free to hit me with some critique or opinions if you want!
I only remembered to take photos of my final piece after I had dragged them to the shittily lit back corner of the studio. I’ll try to get better pics tomorrow and update this post accordingly.
Also thank you all so much for the support and reblogging of my post inquiring about commissions! I’ll be making up a more ~*official*~ post tomorrow when I finally get done with the last of my finals. I’ve already gotten a few e-mails of interest that I’ve responded to, I’m so excited!
